As a dedicated community service volunteer, Monica Nelson knows “The right thing to do is usually the hardest.†Monica Nelson has been doing the “right thing†for many years through her volunteer service for the needy in many different parts of society. She worked with adult education students as a mathematics tutor. Monica has been an active member of Global Links, an organization that delivers surplus American medical supplies to hospitals in third world countries. Monica Nelson also counseled domestic violence victims at the Sojourner Truth House, an organization dedicated to providing shelter, safety, and support to men, women, and children affected by domestic abuse. Monica Nelson earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she studied Journalism. In her free time, Ms. Nelson enjoys cooking, gardening, and writing. She is also a keen athlete and lists tennis, baseball, and cross-country skiing among her favorite sports. The Wisconsin-resident is planning on achieving her pilot license and learning to surf in the future.
